Napoli Announce Natan Signing

On Monday, SSC Napoli officially announced the signing of central defender Natan Bernardo de Souza. According to Italian media, the Brazilian cost Napoli €10-11 million, with 12% of the transfer fee going to Flamengo and 18% to Porto Vitoria.

Natan arrived in Rome on Sunday, where he underwent extensive medical examinations due to a recent history of heart issues. After completing his medicals, the defender joined Aurelio De Laurentiis on the touch line, sitting between the Napoli president and his new teammate and translator, Juan Jesus. Natan has reportedly signed a five-year contract with Napoli, expiring in 2028, and will earn €1.1 million net per season.

Natan spent the last four-and-a-half seasons playing in Brazil. After two seasons at Flamengo, where he made only 17 total appearances, the central defender moved to Red Bull Bragantino. The 1.88 meter-tall Brazilian broke out at Bragantino, making 88 appearances over two-and-a-half seasons. Bragantino are currently second in the Brazilian Serie A table, tied with three other clubs on 31 points, 13 points behind league leaders Botafogo.
