Three Napoli players were in action on Saturday: Leo Østigård, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Stanislav Lobotka. Cramped Leo Østigård played the full 90 minutes in Norway’s UEFA Euro Group A qualification match against Oslo. The Napoli defender lined up on the left side of the centre back pairing in Norway’s 4-3-3 formation. On Thursday, SSC Napoli announced that the club has exercised its option to purchase Giovanni Simeone outright from Hellas Verona. Simeone, who scored nine goals in 33 appearances across all competitions, signed a contract to stay with Napoli for an additional three seasons, ending on the 30th of June, 2026. Ambrosino Falls Short of U20 World Cup

Giuseppe Ambrosino played 56 minutes in Italy's U20 World Cup Final against Uruguay on Sunday. Despite the 1-0 defeat, 19-year-old's stock continues to rise. A product of the Napoli youth system, Ambrosino featured in in six of Italy's seven matches, all from the first minute. Ambrosino, who just completed his first professional season on loan at Como and Cittadella in Serie B, scored a goal and added two assists in the tournament.
