Three days after conceding a stoppage time winner to Sassuolo U19, Napoli Primavera conceded in the 91st minute to suffer a 1-0 defeat to Frosinone. The match on Sunday was Napoli's third out of four against direct rivals, after opening the season with matches against Lecce and Cesena. On Thursday, Como 1907 officially announced the signing of Giuseppe Ambrosino on a season-long dry loan. With 19 goals and five assists, Ambrosino was the top goalscorer in Primavera 1 last season. The striker also scored in Napoli's relegation playout against Genoa, helping the Azzurrini to avoid relegaition.

Alessandro Spavone’s pallonetto and Francesco Gioielli’s first of the season were not enough as Sassuolo U19 scored a stoppage time winner to defeat Napoli U19 3-2. Spavone opened the scoring in the 12th minute after Pasquale Marranzino played him in behind the Cesena back line. Two goals late in the first half were enough for Lecce U19 to earn a convincing 2-0 victory over Napoli U19 in the opening match of the 2022/23 Primavera championship. Lecce finished level with Napoli on 40 points last season, but avoided the relegation playoff as a result of their superior goal differential. On Friday, Serie C club US Alessandria Calcio 1912 officially confirmed the signing of central defender Davide Costanzo. The former Primavera captain joins Alessandria on a season-long loan. Now 20 years old, Costanzo made 34 appearances and scored one goal for the Primavera in 2021/22.

On July 26th, BC Group Agency announced that Nosa Edward Obaretin had joined SSC Napoli. Born in 2003, Obaretin is a product of the AC Milan youth system. Over the last two seasons, the central defender made 48 appearances in all competitions for Milan’s Primavera squad. Standing 1.89 meters tall, Obaretin is capable of playing both as a left-sided central defender in a back three as well as at left back in a back four. Obaretin will fill the void left by Davide Costanzo, who graduated to Napoli's senior team in 2022.

Serie C club F.C. Pro Vercelli 1892 have signed two Napoli Primavera players on loan. The Piemontese club won the race for Antonio Vergara amidst interest from numerous clubs, including Cesena, Pescara and Vis Pesaro. Born in 2003, Vergara was arguably Napoli U19’s best player in 2021/22. In his breakout season, Vergara scored two goals and added 13 assists in all competitions, despite missing five matches due to a hip injury. In addition to Vergara, Pro Vercelli have also loaned midfielder Coli Saco from Napoli. Born in 2002, Saco joined Napoli on a free transfer in 2021 after being released…
