On Sunday, Napoli confirmed the acquisition of Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta on loan with option to buy. Though owned by Atalanta, Gollini joined Napoli from Fiorentina at the end of the winter transfer window, effectively swapping positions with Salvatore Sirigu.
During his five months with the club, the backup goalkeeper had a record of two wins (both clean sheets), one draw and one loss in four starts. Though he conceded four goals against Monza and Bologna combined, Napoli were already guaranteed to win the Scudetto at that point. Gollini also became an important figure in the locker room during Napoli’s Scudetto-winning run.
