On Thursday, SSC Napoli announced that the club has exercised its option to purchase Giovanni Simeone outright from Hellas Verona. Simeone, who scored nine goals in 33 appearances across all competitions, signed a contract to stay with Napoli for an additional three seasons, ending on the 30th of June, 2026. The new contract includes a club option to extend for an additional season, ending on the 30th of June, 2027.
According to CalcioNapoli24, Napoli paid €13 to €14 million to redeem the Argentinian, most of which would have been covered by Monza’s obligation to purchase Andrea Petagna for €10 million plus bonuses. Simeone is expected to earn a salary of €2.5 million net per season.
