On Friday, Lega Serie A announced that the Coach of the Month Award for the month of October had been awarded to Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti.
Spalletti will be presented with the trophy at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona prior to Napoli’s match against Empoli on Tuesday the 8th of November.
According to the league, “the award was assigned by a jury of Directors of sports media who evaluated each coach on the basis of technical and sporting criteria and the quality of play of their teams, as well as their behaviour/fair play during matches. For the final calculation were considered the matchdays from 8 to 12 of Serie A 2022/2023.”
Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo commented on the award.
“The five wins in as many matches in October confirm the exceptional start to the season of Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli. The Tuscan coach has been able to raise the bar even higher by combining the Azzurri’s spectacular play with a perfect management of the resources at his disposal, building a group where every element manages to be a protagonist. Proof of this are the 15 goals with 8 different scorers scored by Napoli in the month of October, which consolidate the position at the top of the Serie A standings of Spalletti’s formation.”
