Match

Neither side created many opportunities to score in the opening quarter of the match, though Liverpool managed to win four corner kicks to Napoli’s two.

Liverpool were dangerous attacking from the wings, and opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark.  Winger Trent Kone-Doherty crossed the ball to Melkamu Frauendorf in the area, whose shot deflected off of Louie Koumas and finished in the back of the goal.

The floodgates opened in the second half, with Liverpool scoring four more goals before the 67th minute.  Ben Doak, Luke Chambers and Kone Doherty (who bagged a brace) all scored in the second half.

For Napoli, it was the final match of the UEFA Youth League after earning only one point in the Group Stage.  The Azzurrini will be back in action on the weekend to take on Hellas Verona.
