Roma Fined €15,000 For Territorial Chants At Stadio Olimpico

On Tuesday, Lega Serie A issued Official Communication No. 74 for the 11th round matches of the 2022/23 Serie A campaign contested between October 21st and 24th. These are the words of Sports Judge Gerardo Mastandrea, assisted by Stefania Ginesio and by the representative of the AIA Carlo Moretti:

A €15,000 fine to Roma for having its supporters, during the match, sung twice, at 38 ‘of the first half and 22’ of the second half, an insulting chorus of territorial origin towards the supporters of the opposing team; and also for its supporters, at 34 ‘of the second half, directing a laser beam in the direction of the goalkeeper of the opposing team.

The fine follows similar sanctions imposed on Hellas Verona, Fiorentina, Lazio and Milan in four of Napoli’s five previous away fixtures.
