On July 14th, Napoli Femminile officially announced the signing of veteran midfielder Giulia Ferrandi.
Born in 1992, Ferrandi brings a wealth of experience to Napoli. Between Atalanta Mozzanica Calcio Femminile Dilettantistico, S.S.D. Brescia Calcio Femminile, ACF Fiorentina Femminile, Florentia San Gimignano S.S.D., A.S.D. Calcio Pomigliano and S.S. Lazio Women 2015, Ferrandi has accumulated 155 appearances in Italian football.
Ferrandi spent the first half of the 2021/22 campaign with Pomigliano, where she played eight matches. She then transferred to Lazio in Serie B and immediately made an impact. The midfielder scored two goals and added two assists in 11 appearances with Lazio.
Though she was born in Bergamo, Ferrandi was happy to return to Campania.
“It was not possible to say no to Napoli and Napoli Feminine. In Campania I left a piece of my heart and even though I was born in the North, I feel at home here. Wearing the blue shirt will be an honor but also a responsibility, the one that we will have to warn in order to achieve the goals that we football players have set for ourselves and that the club has set for us. We will have to give our best for ourselves and for all those who believe in this project”
Ferrandi will one of two vacant positions in the Napoli midfield. In early July, U.S. Sassuolo announced the signing of Eleonora Goldoni.
In May, Emma Errico announced her departure from Napoli on Instagram. Errico made 20 appearances for Napoli in 2020/21. She then moved to Hellas Verona Women, where she made 8 appearances, before returning to Napoli for the second half of the 2021/22 campaign.
