On Friday, Lega Serie A announced that SSC Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was voted the EA Sports Player of the Month for February. Kvaratskhelia will be presented with the trophy prior to Napoli’s match against Atalanta at the Stadio Maradona on Saturday. On Thursday, La Albiceleste announced via their official social media channels that Giovanni Simeone has been called to the squad for Argentina’s friendlies in March. El Cholito will be in Lionel Scalloni’s squad for Argentina’s matches against Panama and Curaçao on March 23rd and March 28th, respectively. Simeone has five caps with La Albiceleste and scored a goal in Argentina’s 3-0 victory over Guatemala in September of 2018. His last cap was in November of 2018, where he played 15 minutes off the bench in a friendly against Mexico.

Only two days after being named the Foreign Athlete of the Year by the Foreign Press Association of Italy, Victor Osimhen has been named the February Player of the Month by the Associazione Italiana Calciatori (AIC or Italian Footballers Association). Osimhen scored five league goals in five matches, to go along with a goal in the first leg of Napoli's Champions League Round of 16 tie against Eintracht Frankfurt. Napoli continued preparations on Wednesday ahead of their match against Atalanta this upcoming weekend. According to the club's official training report, Hirving Lozano did differentiated work due to a resentment. The club has not commented on the severity of the injury, leaving the Mexican's availability for the Atalanta match in doubt. Meanwhile, Giacomo Raspadori, who continues to recover from a thigh strain, did personalized training on the pitch. Victor Osimhen did not participate in training with permission from the club.
