On Thursday, SSC Napoli announced that the club has exercised its option to purchase Giovanni Simeone outright from Hellas Verona. Simeone, who scored nine goals in 33 appearances across all competitions, signed a contract to stay with Napoli for an additional three seasons, ending on the 30th of June, 2026. The new contract includes a club option to extend for an additional season, ending on the 30th of June, 2027. Giuseppe Ambrosino played 56 minutes in Italy's U20 World Cup Final against Uruguay on Sunday. Despite the 1-0 defeat, 19-year-old's stock continues to rise. A product of the Napoli youth system, Ambrosino featured in in six of Italy's seven matches, all from the first minute. Ambrosino, who just completed his first professional season on loan at Como and Cittadella in Serie B, scored a goal and added two assists in the tournament. Born in Procida, the Neapolitan also won the free kick that Simone Pafundi converted to see Italy move past South Korea and into the Final.

On Sunday, UEFA's Technical Observer panel named Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League Young Player of the Season. Kvaratskhelia, who was also named the Serie A MVP, made nine appearances in this season's Champions League, scoring two goals and tallying four assists.
