On Sunday, Napoli Femminile opened the 2023/24 campaign with a 0-2 victory over RES Roma in the First Round of the Coppa Femminile. The club provided a summary of the match on their official Facebook page.
“Banusic (with a double) is decisive in Rome as Napoli Femminile advance to the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia. In the sultry heat at the Raimono Vianello Stadium, RES were strenuously resistant, though they were also helped by the frame of the goal, which Chmielinski hit twice (once in each half).
Then, ten minutes before the end [of the match], the Swedish striker scored her first goal in blue and then doubled the advantage with a penalty [kick] in stoppage time. Just before the second goal, Mauri was removed from the Seno’s team, which for the first match of the season, had to do without Giai, Di Martino and Kobayashi.
The Partenopee qualified for the next round, where they will face Como at home (the same opponent on Sunday in Como at 12:30 for the season debut).”
