Napoli Femminile are hard at work at Rivisondoli preparing for their return for their return to the top flight of Italian football. Last week, the Partenopee released the club’s 2023/24 schedule.
“On the first day we will be in Como, on the last day at Juventus’ home: the Ebay Women’s Serie A calendar has just been drawn (as regards the first phase). Eighteen rounds, three breaks plus the long Christmas break and a midweek round on Valentine’s Day (home derby with Pomigliano). From September to February, the regular season will then start: Scudetto poo and Salvation pool. Remember that the home matches of the Azzurri will be played at the Giuseppe Piccolo stadium in Cercola!
THE FORMAT. Also this year, the #SerieAFemminile is made up of 10 teams and takes place in two stages. In the first phase, the teams will face each other in two-legged matches, for a total of 18 days. Subsequently, in the second phase, the top 5 in the rankings will access a Scudetto pool, with the Scudetto prize and access to the Champions League (1st and 2nd place); the last 5 will face each other, however, in a pool of salvation, in which last place will be relegated directly to Serie B and second-to-last will compete in a playoff/playout match against the 2nd-placed team of the second division. The 5 teams of each pool will face each other in an Italian round, with 4 first leg matches and 4 second leg matches for a further 10 days in total (2 rest rounds each), starting from the points achieved in the first phase.”
