Napoli Acquire Cheddira, Loan to Frosinone

On Sunday, SSC Napoli confirmed the acquisition of SSC Bari striker Walid Cheddira and subsequent loan to Frosinone Calcio.

“SSC Napoli announces that it has definitively acquired the sports services of Walid Cheddira from SSC Bari. The footballer was transferred today to Frosinone Calcio on loan until 30 June 2024.”

Cheddira finished third in the 2022/23 Serie B goal scoring charts with 17 goals and 7 assists. After Elia Caprile, the Morocco international is the second player Napoli have acquired this summer from Bari, who are also owned by the De Laurentiis family.

The transfer was expected after the striker bid a heartfelt farewell to Bari fans on Instagram.

“THANK YOU…a short letter that doesn’t at all quantify the love I have for this city and this shirt. Sometimes untrue things are said that put you in a bad light, but you all know who I am and how much I care about this shirt. You will always be in my heart and I will always be a BARI fan.”
