On Wednesday, Hellas Verona confirmed they have secured the sporting services of Napoli-owned player Michael Folorunsho for the 2023/2024 Serie A campaign.
“Hellas Verona FC announces the acquisition – on loan until 06/30/2024 – of midfielder Michael Folorunsho.
Born on the 7th of February, 1998, in Rome, Folorunsho began his footballing career at Savio, prior to joining the youth system of Lazio in 2014. After three years, the midfielder joined Virtus Francavilla in Serie C.
With the Apulian side, Folorunsho played for two seasons and also made his professional debut on the 30th of July, 2017, in a Coppa Italia match won 3-1 against Imolese.
Prior to the 2019/20 season, the midfielder was acquired by Napoli and played the next three seasons on loan to Bari, Reggina, Pordenone and then again Reggina (in the second half of the 2021/22 season). In total he has collected 79 appearances and 11 goals between Serie B, Serie C and the Coppa Italia.
In the 2022/23 season, he went back to Bari on loan and finished the Serie B league with 9 goals in 32 caps.
