The Coppa Italia resumed on Wednesday, with last season’s Top 8 sides entering the competition in the Round of 16.
On Tuesday, Inter came from behind to eke out a stoppage time victory over Parma. On Wednesday, 10-man Torino pulled off the upset of the tournament, scoring in the 114th minute to eliminate AC Milan from the competition.
Finally, two matches were played on Thursday. In the early fixture, Fiorentina played keep-ball after an early goal from Antonin Barak to advance to the Quarterfinals. Alessio Zerbin made his first start for the Blucerchiati, playing 64 minutes in the 1-0 defeat. In the late match, Paulo Dybala led Roma to deserved victory, scoring the only goal of the match in the second half.
With those results, Napoli’s path to the final is now set. With a win over Cremonese on January 17th, the Partenopei would meet Roma in the Quarterfinals. If successful in that fixture, Napoli would meet the winner of Fiorentina and Torino.
