Sampdoria Fined €10,000 For Territorial Chants At Stadio Luigi Ferraris

On Tuesday, Lega Serie A issued Official Communication No. 115  for the 17th round matches of the 2022/23 Serie A campaign contested between the 7th and 9th of January. These are the words of Sports Judge Gerardo Mastandrea, assisted by Stefania Ginesio and by representative of the AIA Carlo Moretti:

Fine of €10,000 to the Sampdoria club for having its supporters, before the start of the match and in the 37th minute of the second half, sing insulting chants of a territorial nature towards the supporters of the opposing team, perceived by all the collaborators of the federal prosecutor’s office positioned in the various parts of the stadium.

The fine follows similar sanctions imposed on Atalanta, Roma, Hellas Verona, Fiorentina, Lazio and Milan in seven of Napoli’s nine away fixtures thus far this season.
