On Friday, the municipal council of the Metropolitan City of Naples approved a budget of €2 million to carry out extraordinary maintenance of the Stadio Maradona. The works are intended to improve safety, energy efficiency and accessibility. An additional €374,000 has been allocated for improvements to washrooms for people with disabilities.
The administration’s goal is to complete the work by the end of January. Italy will host England at the Stadio Maradona on March 23, 2023, to open UEFA Euro 2024 qualification.
