Napoli to Play Cremonese in Coppa Italia Round of 16

On Thursday, Cremonese defeated Modena 4-2 in the Copa Italia Round of 32. After a scoreless first half, David Okereke and Felix Afena-Gyan gave Cremonese a 2-0 lead with only six minutes remaining. However, even after Luca Magnino’s sending off in the 22nd minute, Davide Diaw scored twice in the dying minutes to force extra time. After a scoreless first half of extra time, substitute Leonardo Sernicola scored a brace in the second half of extra time to see the Grigiorossi through to the next round.

With the win, Cremonese will play against Napoli in the Round of 16 in January. The winner of that match will play against the winner of Roma and Genoa, after Genoa eliminated SPAL on Tuesday.
