Napoli Femminile Open the Season with a Win!

Napoli CF raced out of the gates, scoring three in the first half on route to a 2-3 victory over newly promoted AFC Trento CF.

Dimitri Lipoff made four changes to the squad he fielded against Tavagnacco in the Coppa Italia. He lined up in a 4-3-3 formation with Matilde Copetti starting over Sabrina Tasselli in goal. Melissa Nozzi returned from international duty to start over Martina Di Bari at centre back, alongside captain Paola Di Marino. Antonia Dulcic shifted over to the left, covering for Aurora De Sanctis, while Eleonora Oliva started at right back.

With Sara Tui also returning from international duty, Lucia Strisciullo was relegated to the bench. Michela Franco started in the centre of the midfield with Giulia Ferrandi to her left and Sara Tui to her right. Meanwhile, Lipoff kept his front three in tact, with Romina Pinna on the left wing, Serena Landa on the right wing and Adriana Gomes at striker.

Trento-Napoli-CF-01

Napoli raced out of the gates, with Melissa Nozzi, Romina Pinna and Giulia Ferrandi all scoring their first of the season in the first half.

Trento made a valiant effort to get back into the match, with goals from Hannah Bielak Giulia Rosa scoring in the second half. However, it wasn’t enough as the Partenopee opened the 2022/23 Serie B campaign with a win.

Unfortunately, the match, which was supposed to be broadcast live on Eleven Sports, was not available to watch due to connectivity issues. Napoli Femminile apologized to fans via a post on Facebook.

“The Napoli Female apologizes to the female football fans, to all its fans and in particular to those who many had connected on the Eleven Sports platform to follow the match at Trento’s home. Unfortunately, for reasons absolutely beyond our control, and due to the inability shown by those who had the task of broadcasting the event, it was not possible to watch the match live. For some time now, the women’s division has raised the problem of the inadequacy of the production and broadcasting system of the women’s Serie B matches, while still remaining unheard in its grievances. Unfortunately, the facts today proved our club right but our supporters, those of Trento and all those who follow women’s football have paid the price. We can only regret this.”
