The visitor section will remain closed Napoli’s match against Spezia on Saturday. The decision was made in light of the clashes between supporters of the two clubs in La Spezia last season.
The match, which was contested during the final round of the 2021/22 campaign, was delayed for 12 minutes after rival supporters exchanged smoke bombs and attempted to hop over the glass barrier separating home and away fans in the Curva Piscino at the Stadio Pucco. Clashes ensued after the match, leaving many injured. 58 people were identified during the investigation.
The decision comes two weeks after Napoli’s away match against Fiorentina, where only 50% of the away sector at the Stadio Artemio Franchi was opened.
