On Friday, Delfino Pescara 1936 confirmed the permanent transfer of Luca Palmiero from SSC Napoli. The midfield played for Pescara on a season-long loan in 2019/20.
Palmiero is a product of the Napoli youth system, graduating from the Primavera in 2015, but was unable to break into the first team. He spent two seasons on loan in Serie C, first with ASD Akragas 2018 and then with Cosenza Calcio Srl.
In 2017/18, Palmiero helped Cosenza earn promotion to Serie B after defeating ACR Siena 1904 in the Serie C promotion playoff. Palmiero recorded an assist in the final. Another ex-Napoli player, Gennaro Tutino, was decisive in that final, scoring a goal and adding an assist.
Palmiero has remained in Serie B since, playing for Pescara and Chievo Verona before returning to Cosenza in 2021/22.
