On Monday, Lega Serie A issued Official Communication No. 33 for the third round matches of the 2022/23 Serie A campaign contested on August 28th. These are the words of Sports Judge Gerardo Mastandrea, assisted by Stefania Ginesio and by the representative of the AIA Carlo Moretti:
Fine of €15,000 to the Fiorentina company for having its supporters, before the competition and during the same, repeatedly chanting insulting choirs of territorial origin, as well as outrageous choirs of religious origin, perceived by all the collaborators of the Federal Prosecutor positioned in the various parts of the stadium
The fine was issued only two weeks after Hellas Verona were fined €12,000 euros for similar chants at the Stadio Bentegodi.
The communication was published while reports circulate on social media about a young Napoli fan who was forced to wear her Napoli shirt inside out during the match and about a Fiorentina fan who attempted to slap Luciano Spalletti after the match.
