Emma Severini Returns to Fiorentina

On July 26th, ACF Fiorentina officially announced the signing of ex-Napoli player Emma Severini on loan from AS Roma. Severini becomes the third Napoli player to join Fiorentina this summer, after goalkeeper Rachele Baldi and winger Kaja Erzen.

The 19 year old made 14 appearances during her one season at Napoli (seven from the first minute). She had one assist on the season, ironically in a 2-0 victory over Fiorentina.

Severini, who played for Fiorentina’s Primavera team before moving to Roma, is looking forward to this new challenge.

“I’m delighted to be back in Florence. It’ll undoubtedly be a different experience from my last one here. I’ve changed both as a person and as a footballer. I chose to come to Fiorentina because I saw the club were keen to sign me. This spurred me to return here, as did the fact that I’m a lifelong Fiorentina fan. It’ll be a challenge for me but challenges are what make you improve. I’m happy for having taken on this challenge. Fiorentina are obviously a big club so I need to be ready for the demands that will be placed on me. It won’t be easy but I’ll give my all in order to get a place in the team which would also be important for my footballing career moving forward. There’s no doubt I’ve grown, both as a person and as a player. I’ve picked up so many little things from the experienced players in this team. There are many seasoned and top class players here. While I can’t hope to match them yet because I’m still young, I want to be on the right track so that I can become as experienced as they are.
