On Thursday, Napoli Femminile announced the signing of goalkeeper Matilde Copetti. Copetti joins Sabrina Tasselli and Chiara Repetti as the three replacements for Rachele Baldi, Yolanda Aguirre and Kelly Chiavaro.
Copetti returns to Italy after playing for one season with Lugano in the Swiss WSL, where she made 18 appearances.
The goalkeeper made her Serie A debut with ASD UPC Tavagnacco, where she played until 2018. She then moved to Ravenna FC in Serie B, where she made 62 appearances over three seasons. Thus, despite playing one season abroad, Copetti is very familiar with the league.
“I am very excited because they all spoke well to me about this reality and I am intrigued by the idea of knowing a city that I have not yet had the opportunity to appreciate. I know the Serie B championship and its particularities well, but also the value of the staff that the Napoli Women are setting up. We will have to be good at having a constant performance in a tournament which seems long and difficult.”
