After one season with Fiorentina, goalkeeper Sabrina Tasselli returns to Napoli.
Tasselli hasn’t played for Napoli Femminile since the second half of the 2019/20 campaign, when she took over for an injured Catalina Perez. Napoli went on to earn promotion to Serie A that season.
The 32 year old shot-stopper brings a wealth of experience with her, having made over 70 appearances in Serie A to go along with 30 appearances in Serie B.
Before joining Napoli, Tasselli played for U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, A.S.D. U.P.C. Tavagnacco, Hellas Verona Women, A.S.D. Riviera di Romagna Calcio Femminile and Juventus F.C. Women.
During her one season at Fiorentina, Tasselli made eight appearances, but struggled to earn results. Tasselli conceded 19 goals and failed to record a single victory. Having spent only one season away, Tasselli feels as though she never left.
“In reality, it is as if I never left because I remained tied to this shirt and to this club. Napoli is a city that conquers you and that you never forget, but now it will be up to us to conquer the fans again with cazzimma that must distinguish anyone who wears the blue colours that I now feel on my skin, for the emotions I have already and that I am going to live in the shadow of Vesuvius.”
With the departure of all three of Napoli’s goalkeepers from the 2021/22 campaign – Rachele Baldi has joined Fiorentina, Yolanda Aguirre has joined Sevilla and Kelly Chiavaro has joined Flamengo – Tasselli is currently Napoli’s only goalkeeper.
