On Thursday, Napoli Femminile announced the signing of left back Aurora De Sanctis. At 22 years old, De Sanctis is young but very experienced, having already completed two full seasons in Serie A.
De Sanctis began her career with San Marino Academy in 2019/20, where she earned promotion to Serie A. The defender remained with San Marino in the top flight, making 14 appearances, ten of which were from the first minute.
De Sanctis then moved to Hellas Verona Women, where she made 15 appearances (10 starts) during the 2021/22 campaign. As a left-footed defender, De Sanctis will compete with Sejde Abrahamsson for the role of starting left back.
In her first remarks as a Napoli player, De Sanctis embraced the challenge of getting Napoli back up to Serie A.
“I am very happy to land in the shadow of Vesuvius. The blue jersey will be a further in the growth of my career. I know that the club is ambitious and I am too, which is why, despite having played in Serie A in the last two years, I have enthusiastically decided to accept this new challenge.”
