On July 9th, Napoli Femminile officially announced its first signing of the 2022/23 campaign: Melissa Nozzi.
The central defender has two years of experience in Serie A, first with Chieti Calcio Femminile in 2016/17 and then with San Marino Academy in 2019/20. Between Chieti and San Marino, Nozzi made 26 appearances in Serie A.
Nozzi will fill the void left by Lana Golob. In early July, Golob announced her departure from Napoli on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Nozzi is excited for the opportunity to play in an important square and has bought into Napoli’s project as presented by club management.
“For me it is a great opportunity and I am determined to play it at my best. Napoli is an important square that deserves to be honored. I am sure that the club will be able to set up an important team because the managers have transmitted great enthusiasm to me and I already feel involved in this new project.”
