Eleonora Goldoni has joined U.S. Sassuolo after two seasons with Napoli. Goldoni was one of a number of players to depart from the Partenopee following the club’s relegation to Serie B.
Goldoni scored a total of seven goals and added two assists in 34 appearances during her time at Napoli. The forward adds depth to an already strong Sassuolo side.
Sassuolo began the 2021/22 campaign neck and neck with Juventus, winning eight of their first nine matches. However, they tailed off in the second half of the campaign, finishing 4th.
Goldoni hopes her positional flexibility can help Sassuolo improve in the upcoming 2022/23 campaign.
“I am extremely happy to join this team. It is a project that I believe in so much and that embraces values that I hold dear. I think one of my main characteristics is dynamism: I like to help out on the defensive end, as well as find the right fit to be an added striker. I am ready to give my best and help my teammates where I can. I look forward to the beginning of the season!”
